About Generative

Generative is a leadership coaching and nonprofit consulting practice. Karen founded Generative in response to the common hurdles she observed over 20 years as a nonprofit leader:

• Teams feeling disconnected

• Leadership and staff burn-out

• Inefficiencies in fundraising

• Boards of directors that are ill-equipped or disengaged

Through Generative, Karen partners with nonprofit leaders to tackle these common challenges so that they can be highly effective, equipped to deliver their mission. She has refined her consultative approach after working with multiple social service and education nonprofits as both an in-house executive leader and consulting partner: Reading Partners, Higher Achievement, Family Services of Western Pennsylvania, The Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh, and the City of Alexandria, VA.
